As a part of our #iamstrongest campaign, SharonPly distributed solar-powered umbrellas to roadside vendors at Marina Beach on the eve of Diwali in 2022, and further extended support by donating umbrellas with solar-powered lights to roadside vendors at various temples in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry in 2023.

Plastic pollution, caused due to plastic waste, has reached alarming heights and is increasing rapidly with every passing day. It has become a cause of global concern as it is destroying our beautiful planet and having negative repercussions on all kinds of living beings.
#iSayNoToPlastic is an initiative that SharonPly cares deeply about and we have undertaken several activities to address the growing problem of #PlasticPollution.
#quenchthethirst
#quenchthethirst is an #iamstrongest initiative to help the birds and animals among us during the summer. With this initiative we were able to distribute more than 1000 water bowls all around Chennai.
#GrowTheGreen
For more than ten years, SharonPly has distributed tree saplings widely, offering them generously to the public at various locations. This commitment mirrors SharonPly’s lasting dedication to environmental sustainability and community involvement, promoting a healthier ecosystem.
Health Camps
SharonPly organized a General Health Camp catering to school students, along with a specialized Cardiac Camp for both Company and Contractor workers at SharonPly, Gummidipoondi factory. This initiative aimed to address the health needs of diverse groups within our community, promoting overall well-being through targeted medical assistance.
Umbrella with Solar Powered Light
Under our #iamstrongest campaign, SharonPly provided Umbrella with Solar Powered Light to roadside vendors at Marina Beach during Diwali in 2022. This effort persisted as SharonPly extended its reach in 2023, donating umbrellas equipped with solar-powered lights to vendors at multiple temples across Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, furthering our impactful journey.
Covid
Amidst the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic, SharonPly implemented proactive measures by providing complimentary sanitizer stands and face masks, as well as organizing an extensive vaccination camp for its employees. These efforts were aimed at contributing to public health and safety during this crucial period.
Paper Bags Distribution Activity
In a commitment to environmental preservation, SharonPly launched a campaign at Arignar Anna Vandalur Zoo in Chennai, India’s largest zoological park. Commencing in 2009, this ongoing initiative encourages individuals to oppose the detrimental impact of plastic on our environment and the remarkable animals inhabiting the zoo.
Clean-up Activities
Joining hands with like-minded stakeholders, SharonPly is committed to environmental care. Through collaborative efforts, we have undertaken initiatives aimed at preserving the natural beauty of our surroundings. Our endeavors extend from coastal clean-ups to forest preservation activities, all geared towards nurturing the environment we call home.
World Environment Day
In observance of World Environment Day, SharonPly hosted a ‘One Idea to Beat Plastic Pollution’ contest in 2018, inviting innovative solutions from June 5th to July 5th. Alongside, a collaborative rally with 98.3FM Radio Mirchi was organized on June 5th, 2009, in Chennai and Coimbatore, commemorating the global event.
Flood Relief
SharonPly provided assistance to over 3,000 school and college students affected by the 2015 floods by distributing flood relief kits. These kits contained essential study materials like notebooks, pencils, erasers, sharpeners, rulers, and geometry boxes sourced from the ITC brand.
Furthermore, the relief kits included school bags, uniforms, shoes, and socks, aiming to mitigate the flood’s impact on students’ education and holistic well-being.
Free Helmet Distribution activity
Teaming up with Big FM, SharonPly embarked on a CSR initiative centered on the distribution of free helmets to the public. This collaborative endeavor aimed to raise awareness about road safety while directly contributing to individuals’ well-being through the provision of vital protective gear.
