Our History
Since its inception in 1987, SharonPly has been at the forefront of many innovative and pioneering ventures. Being the first plywood manufacturer to have been awarded the ISO-9002 and ISO-14001 certifications, the brand also has the unique distinction of being the only manufacturer to export quality plywood to Japan, considered to be the leading country in Plywood technology.
SharonPly has its chief manufacturing facility at Gummidipoondi, near Chennai. This green product certified facility is built with the state-of-the-art technology and international standard for safety and security. SharonPly has a solar panelled captive power plant with a capacity of 1056 KV that saves around 1.5 million units of power annually.
In 2022, SharonPly completed glorious 35 years, growing from strength to strength, and has been a proud and responsible corporate citizen playing a small part in India’s incredible journey of 75 years.

Launch of SharonPlatinumPly, Flush Door, Block Board & Film Face Shuttering Ply. SharonPly entered in new categories and new segments.
1992
Launch of
SharonElastiPly
Its immaculate elasticity helped designers and furniture makers bring their designs to life.
1994
A Milestone
Year!
SharonPly became the only plywood brand to incorporate the pioneering ‘Kyoto ProTech Technology’ and to begin exporting plywood to quality conscious markets abroad.
Introduction of Double
Press Technology

Inauguration of
Madanlal Khemani Vivekananda Vidyalaya
As a part of CSR activities a school on 4 acres of land was established in Gummidipoondi which has a strength of 1600 students now.

SharonPly launched its state of the art Particle Board manufacturing facility.

Upgradation to
Triple Press Technology
In its constant effort to raise the bar, SharonPly upgraded from double Press Technology to triple press technology for better uniformity of plywood.
2018
Introduction of Core Composer
Composed Core introduced to the production along with 8ft Glue Spreader.
Upgradation to Quadruple
Pressed
Every Sheet of SharonPly started getting pressed 4 times with MAT process to ensure uniformity and better strength.
Solar
Energy
Installed a solar panel captive power plant that saves around 1 million units of power annually.
2019
Launch of Sovereign710
SharonPly Launched Sovereign 710, used the unique Technology from Kyoto University Japan, for this water-proof plywood.

Virasafe
SharonPly introduced path-breaking VIRASAFE technology to protect carpenters and customers from viruses.

SharonPly has been issued an organization-specific FSC Chain of Custody certificate.

Launch of
Calibrated Plywood
SharonPly enhanced the strength of producing Calibrated Plywood.

SharonPly acquired IS: 5509 standard license & has been certified as Fire Retardant Plywood.
E-Zero Emission Compliance
CARB certified for manufacturing products with E0 Emission standard.
